The Christian Health Association of Alberta

The Christian Health Association of Alberta (CHAA) is a provincial non-profit health organization. It is governed by an elected Board of Directors and administered by an Executive Director and staff. Its mission is to promote and foster the continuation of a faith based healing ministry through education, advocacy, and collaboration. The Association works closely and collaboratively with other provincial health associations and our national body; the Catholic Health Association of Canada.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CHAA operates under a Board of Directors, 9 of whom are elected.

Specifically, the CHAA seeks:

  • To maintain and promote faith based health care in Alberta;
  • To advocate with Government and others on behalf of its members;
  • To influence the public policy debate by providing a faith based perspective on health care issues;
  • To conduct educational programs dealing with mission & values, ethics, spirituality and other related areas of the Christian ministry of health; and
  • To provide education and outreach programs to involve the various church communities in the health care ministry.
  • CHAA collaborates with its provincial counterparts and the Catholic Health Association of Canada (CHAC) our national Catholic Health Organization.

CHAA serves as the collective voice for its members which include the following categories:

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

"Any association of persons/owners/sponsors organized as a legal entity that supports the mission and goals of the Association."

Faith based organizations may obtain an associate membership by the $75 membership fee.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS

"Individuals who are interested in and support the mission, values and goals of the Association."

Individuals may obtain an associate membership by the $25 membership fee.

HONORARY MEMBERS

"Individuals granted an honorary membership by the Board."

LIFE MEMBERS

"Individuals whom the Board from time to time deems appropriate to appoint to this membership classification."
